Seachem Flourish Iron Supplement
Seachem Flourish Iron Supplement ('116047609)

Seachem Flourish Iron is a highly concentrated iron supplement for aquariums with live plants. Its simple, pure formula is ideal for iron deficiencies and/or situations when iron requirements are greater than what Seachem Flourish can provide.

  • Iron supplement for the planted aquarium
  • Highly concentrated (10,000 mg/L) ferrous iron
  • Contains no phosphate or nitrate

Flourish Iron contains 10,000 mg/L of ferrous iron (Fe+2) gluconate, a highly effective form of iron that provides greater benefits than ferric state EDTA-iron (Fe+3) sources used in other iron supplements. Plants can only utilize iron in the ferrous state, and must expend extra physiological energy just to make ferric iron supplements usable. Flourish Iron provides plants the iron they need directly, saving time and reducing stress on your plants.

Use Flourish Iron in those cases where iron requirements exceed that which can be delivered by standard Seachem Flourish at the recommended dose, or when signs of iron deficiency appear (including short, slender stems or yellowing between veins).

Directions: Use 1 capful (5 mL) for each 200 L (50 gallons) of water, or as required to maintain about 0.10 mg/L iron. For smaller doses please note that each cap thread is about 1 mL. Use a test kit to monitor iron concentrations. Use as needed to combat signs of iron deficiency (usually seen in new growth).

Seachem Reef Advantage Calcium
Seachem Reef Advantage Calcium ('116031301)

Seachem Reef Advantage Calcium is a non-caustic (pH 8.3-8.6) optimized blend of ionic calcium designed to restore and maintain calcium levels to those found in natural seawater. Note that if either calcium or carbonates become deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health.

  • Raises calcium to natural seawater levels
  • Capable of raising 20 gallons of water by 25 ppm of calcium with only 1 teaspoon
  • Non-caustic and pH balanced (pH 8.3-8.6)
  • Maintains magnesium and strontium, will not deplete alkalinity

In addition to calcium, Reef Advantage provides magnesium and strontium in amounts proportionate to typical utilization ratios (100:5:0.1, Ca:Mg:Sr), helping to maintain three critical elements at once. Unlike limewater (kalkwasser), Reef Advantage Calcium does not have a caustic pH and will not deplete magnesium. When used as directed, it will not deplete alkalinity.

Directions:
BEGINNER: Use 5 g (1 level teaspoon) per 150 L (40 US gallons) twice a week. For precise dosing, use the Seachem Digital Spoon Scale. Dissolve in at least 250 ml (1 cup) of freshwater. Check calcium every 2 weeks and adjust amount or frequency accordingly.

ADVANCED: Check calcium level, then follow addition regimen above until calcium is adjusted to 380–420 mg/L. Each 5 g/150 L will raise calcium by about 12 mg/L. Quantity or frequency can be adjusted, but do not exceed 10 g/150 L per day. Thereafter, use as required to maintain calcium.

EXPERT: After determining the calcium consumption rate, set up a continuous drip system. Use the following formula to determine how much to add to your top-off water: m=vc/400 (m=grams to add to top off water, v=volume of tank in liters, c=amount to raise calcium in mg/L). [For reference: 1 gallon=3.8 liters, 5 g=1 teaspoon].

Seachem Reef Calcium
Seachem Reef Calcium ('116035309)

Reef Calcium is a concentrated (50,000 mg/L) bioavailable polygluconate complexed calcium intended to maintain calcium in the reef aquarium without altering pH. Additionally, polygluconate contains no nitrogen or phosphorous, thus it is biologically impossible for it to lead to algae growth in a properly maintained reef system. Reef Calcium utilizes a chained organic calcium rather than an ionic calcium. When a coral absorbs a molecule into its tissue, it uses the same amount of energy regardless of molecular size. However, charged molecules require more energy. When an uncharged molecule of Reef Calcium is absorbed, the coral acquires multiple calcium atoms as well as an easily metabolized carbohydrate with less energy expended than it uses for ionic calcium uptake. Therefore, at lower calcium levels, corals can still take in as much calcium through our organic chains as they would at much higher levels of ionic calcium.

  • Increases the bioavailability of the calcium
  • Provides a rich source of metabolic energy
  • Maintains peak coral growth
  • Prevents calcium precipitation/alkalinity depletion
  • Will not lead to algae growth in a properly maintained reef system

Directions: Add 1 capful (5 mL) per 80 L (20 US gallons) twice a week. You can increase the amount or frequency based on growth response but do not exceed 3 capfuls per 80 L (20 gallons) per day. Each capful will raise calcium by about 3 mg/L.

Seachem Reef Calcium
Seachem Reef Calcium ('116035606)

Reef Calcium is a concentrated (50,000 mg/L) bioavailable polygluconate complexed calcium intended to maintain calcium in the reef aquarium without altering pH. Polygluconate complexation confers several benefits: it increases the bioavailability of the calcium, it provides a rich source of metabolic energy to help maintain peak coral growth, and it prevents calcium precipitation/alkalinity depletion. Polygluconate contains no nitrogen or phosphorous, thus it is biologically impossible for it to lead to algae growth in a properly maintained reef system.

  • Maintains calcium
  • Accelerates coral growth
  • Will not alter pH

Reef Calcium may be used alone to maintain calcium but will provide enhanced levels of coral growth when used in conjunction with an ionic calcium supplement. Reef Calcium is intended to maintain calcium levels; if calcium becomes seriously depleted one should either perform a water change or use an ionic calcium supplement to restore the depleted level of calcium.

Seachem Reef Builder
Seachem Reef Builder ('116036306)

Seachem Reef Builder supplies the carbonates and calcium which are essential for all coral growth. It also raises carbonate alkalinity without immediately impacting water pH, and will stabilize aquarium water at pH 8.3 with long term use.

  • Raises carbonate alkalinity (KH) with minimal pH impact
  • Provides a blend of carbonate sources that will not lower pH
  • Will not deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium
  • Promotes healthy coral growth

If either calcium or carbonates become deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health. Used as directed, Seachem Reef Builder will not deplete calcium, magnesium, or strontium which usually tend to precipitate with increasing alkalinity.

Seachem Reef Builder and Reef Buffer may be used together: use Reef Builder to raise carbonate alkalinity without affecting pH, and use Reef Buffer to raise carbonate alkalinity and pH. As a general rule, reef alkalinity should be maintained at 3–5 meq/L (8–14 dKH); alkalinity should not be allowed to fall below 2 meq/L.

Directions:
BEGINNER: Use 3 g (1/2 level teaspoon) per 150 L (40 gallons) twice a week. Dissolve in at least 250 ml (1 cup) of freshwater. Check alkalinity every 2 weeks and adjust amount or frequency accordingly. For precise dosing, use the Seachem Digital Spoon Scale.

ADVANCED: Check alkalinity, then follow addition regimen above until alkalinity is adjusted to 4–5 meq/L. Each 3 g/150 L will raise alkalinity by about 0.25 meq/L. Quantity or frequency can be adjusted, but do not exceed 12 g/150 L per day. Thereafter, use as required to maintain alkalinity.

EXPERT: After determining the alkalinity consumption rate, set up a continuous drip system. Use the following formula to determine how much to add to your top–off water: m=0.08va (m=grams to add to top off water, v=volume of tank in liters, a=amount to raise alkalinity in meq/L). For example, if you want to raise your alkalinity by 1 meq/L in a 200 liter tank, then you would add 0.08x200x1=16 g into the top–off water. [For reference: 1 gallon=3.8 liters, 6 g=1 teaspoon].

DO NOT OVERDOSE: Excess alkalinity may enhance the loss of calcium, magnesium, and strontium. Do not directly mix with any calcium, magnesium, or strontium supplement. Best if calcium and carbonate additives are added on alternate days or at least 30 minutes apart.

Seachem Equilibrium Mineral Balance & GH Water Treatment
Seachem Equilibrium Mineral Balance & GH Water Treatment ('116044608)

Equilibrium is specifically designed to establish the ideal mineral content for the planted aquarium. Equilibrium contains no sodium or chloride (which can be detrimental to a planted aquarium at elevated levels). Equilibrium is ideally suited for use with RO (reverse osmosis) or DI (deionized) water or any mineral deficient water. Equilibrium raises the essential mineral/electrolyte content (General Hardness) of the water to balance with and promote stability of the carbonate hardness. To maintain KH, we recommend Alkaline Buffer. Equilibrium contains NO SODIUM CHLORIDE. Both sodium and chloride are not rapidly depleted elements in a planted aquarium, and, in the case of chloride, can do more harm than good. Also, sodium is not a contributing cation to GH levels. Equilibrium contains only calcium, magnesium, and potassium salts, which aid in fish metabolism but are also highly beneficial to plant growth. Equilibrium guaranteed analysis and symptoms of deficiency

  • Restores and Maintains Mineral Balance and GH
  • Contains No Sodium or Chloride
  • Fast Dissolving Powder Repaces Minerals for Healthy Plant Growth
  • Reverse Osmosis Water Conditioner for Freshwater Planted Aquariums
  • Made in the USA

INSTRUCTIONS: To raise mineral content/general hardness (GH) by 1 meq/L (3 dH), add 16 g (1 tablespoon) for every 80 L (20 US gallons) when setting up an aquarium or when making water changes (add to new water). For optimum solubility, we recommend mixing with 1 L (1 qt.) of water (the resulting mixture will have a white opaque appearance). When this mixture is added to the aquarium it will impart a slight haze that should clear within 15-30 minutes. HINTS: Do not use Equilibrium when replacing evaporated water. This dose is based on DI or RO water; for other water, measure hardness (GH) first, then add according to need. For precise dosing, use the Seachem Digital Spoon Scale. Plant preferences vary, but a general guide is about 1-2 meq/L (3-6 dH) or match the existing or target carbonate hardness (KH), which, ideally, is also about 1-2 meq/L (3-6 dKH). Equilibrium will compact with age, but remains effective.

Seachem Reef Trace Element Supplement for the Reef Aquarium
Seachem Reef Trace Element Supplement for the Reef Aquarium ('116073608)

Reef Trace supplies a broad range of trace elements demonstrated to be necessary for proper reef health and growth. Trace elements are normally depleted by utilization, oxidation, and precipitation. The latter two processes occur more rapidly than with other micronutrients. This makes it important to restore trace elements on a regular basis. Reef Trace may be used alone or in conjunction with Reef Plus. The best results are obtained when both are used. Reef Trace is nitrate/phosphate free.

  • Reef Trace supplies a broad range of trace elements
  • Reef Trace may be used alone or in conjunction with Reef Plus
  • Reef Trace is nitrate/phosphate free

Replenishment of a number of trace elements is required to maintain an environment ideal for the growth and reproduction of marine life, but while the importance of trace elements has been recognized by aquarists for many years, the physiological reasons are not fully understood. The chemical elements in seawater are varied, and, likewise, their addition to the aquarium in trace quantities has varied effects on a variety of saltwater plants and invertebrate species. In general, though, these elements are important for metabolic processes and pigment formation.
